STUDIO III

studio projects are longer more developed expressions of creativity in where all design techniques and tools are combined

"REPURPOSING RAINWATER"

2024,  final project

Final grade; First mark

This project focuses on repurposing rainwater in the built environment to be used in the toilet and laundry, as they represent the 51% of the pure water use in the house, although they can still function with grey water

"WEARABLE; LIVE PROJECT "

TOOL ADAPTATION FOR A PERSONA

NHS PROPOSAL

2023, 3 weeks project

In this project we had the opportunity to have a live experience with a design consultancy. The proposal was to create a health and wellbeing device that can be wearable and combines new technology and an appealing aesthetic.

The final proposal was a portable device to monitor and improve sleep apnea. The benefits of these products was that the detachable component when the tracking system is located can be reused by other patients. Furthermore, the ergonomics and materiality of the shape make the product easier to use and understand for the everyday user in comparison to the current way to sleep tracking and allows the consumer to be more constant of their treatment, being able to follow their improvements on their smartphone

The development of this project took 3 weeks, from the moment we got in touch with the consultancy, to coming up with the right brief based on our research and polishing the final product.

the main body of work was to understand the user and the ergonomics of the product, doing as much research and iterations as possible

"USER UNDERSTANDING"

TOOL ADAPTATION FOR A PERSONA

JOSEPH AND JOSEPH PROPOSAL

2021, 6 weeks project

during the process of this design, the understanding of the user capabilities and experience was the main  point, trying to understand daily useful products in order to adapt them for public with reduced hand mobility

the final brief and intention is to design plates that can be held and support by people with reduce  strength and mobility , looking for ergonomic shapes and materials

the process to find the ergonomic shape that is later defined through CAD softwares is achieved by the mixture of models and sketches, mixing mathematical shapes with real-life interactions
